Sustainable Living and Farming Tour

Simply Living Farm in partnership with Wenatchee River Institute and Leavenworth Community Farmers' Market is proud to bring to you the 1st annual Sustainable Living and Farming Tour in Leavenworth, WA!

The Sustainable Living and Farming Tour is an opportunity to learn from those who are living and/or farming sustainably in Leavenworth, WA!  It is a self-guided tour of homes and businesses that are embracing sustainability.  The tour will have 14 destinations (without excessive driving) including straw bale houses and yurts, off-the-grid buildings, organic farms and gardens, alpaca and llama farming, bee and chicken raising and more!

September 13-14th, 2014

The tour will kick off with a talk from our keynote speaker, Ellen Gray, at 9:15am on Saturday September 13th.  Ellen Gray is the Executive Director of Washington Sustainable Food/Farming Network.  After the talk all tour sites will be open and accessible to tour participants until 4:00pm.  Tour sites will be open again on Sunday from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.

If you want to get a jump start on the tour, Ellen Gray will also be giving a talk the evening of Friday September 12th @ 7:00pm at the The Barn at Barn Beach Reserve (347 Division Street, Leavenworth, WA).  This talk is part of Wenatchee River Institutes Red Barn Friday's and is open to the general public (note: there is an entry fee).
